Bem Bom concept shuts down after death of chef: Orlando's Bem Bom restaurant located at 3101 Corrine Drive has shut down after the death of co-owner Chef Francisco "Chico" Mendoca." Mendoca started off as a food truck and succeeded at making the concept into a brick-and-mortar concept. Co-owner A.J. Campofiore will keep his City Beautiful Cafe concept going. (bungalower.com)
Osceola approves Green Garden Village project: Osceola County has approved a new clean energy park called Green Garden Village, despite public opposition. The project is being done in partnership with Panacea Global Energy. Residents remain concerned about industrial areas near parks and living areas. (aroundosceola.com)
Kissimmee construction job fair coming Feb. 22: Pinnacle and Birdsong Housing Partners are inviting Kissimmee residents to a job fair for Pinnacle at the Wesleyan. The job fair will be held in partnership with Birdsong’s affiliate Parramore Development & Construction from noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22. The job fair will be at Osceola County Welcome Center & History Museum, 4155 Vine St. (carloseats.com)
Melbourne clinic shutting down due to anti-LGBTQ laws: Orlando-based SPEKTRUM Health is closing its Melbourne office due to "anti-trans legislation." The location served more than 4,000 patients since opening, according to the provider. The office will now merge with those in Central Florida. Transgender patients were approximately 60 percent of the patients, according to the announcement. (clickorlando.com)
Tex-Mex concept from Atlanta open in Winter Park: A Georgia-based Tex-Mex concept is now open in Winter Park called Superica. The concept is located at 415 S. Orlando Ave. The concept is open for lunch Monday through Friday, dinner daily, and brunch on weekends. It was created by Atlanta-based chef and owner Ford Fry.
